Reception Jubilee Celebrations
In preparation for the Queen's Jubilee, Reception looked at some old photos of the previous Jubilee celebrations and created bunting to decorate the classroom.
They also looked at current pictures of the Queen and drew portraits to hand up alongside the bunting.
Jubilee Journeys Competition
In May 2022, we welcomed local artist and junk modeller Anthony James to work with our Year 5 pupils. With Anthony's help, the pupils spent the day creating wonderful 3D models of train carriages from junk.
Children from primary schools across the Island were invited to submit entries to the Jubilee Journeys design challenge, which were displayed at the Havenstreet Steam Railways over half term. Miss Bonnick went to Havenstreet to look at the entries and said all the designs looked amazing!
The judges found it very difficult to pick an overall winner, and were very impressed with the amount of effort that was afforded to the challenge.
We are delighted to announce that Lucas was awarded third place! The judges were impressed by both the design and build, and the explanation that was submitted too.
